Luigi Laveglia was born in Lucerne in 1971. He is composer in residence with the Glass Farm Ensemble. In 2008 the ensemble performed the first time a composition by Luigi Laveglia and has since commissioned and premiered at least one work every season. His music has been performed in Europe, North and South America and most recently in Japan at the Aichi World Exhibition. Mr. Laveglia was the director of the International Society of Contemporary Music in Lucerne. He received the Kiefer-Hablitzel Prize for composition and was awarded with the "Lucerne Culture Prize". Mr. Laveglia also performs as a pianist with the ensemble. Luigi Laveglia is a professor at the University for Applied Science and Arts in Lucerne. He studied piano, theory and composition at the Music Academy Basel and Lucerne. His teachers included Detlev Müller-Siemens and Roland Moser.
